Technical Consultant
 
Location: East Point Business Park, Dublin 3

Role

You will be a member of the PaceMetrics' Professional Services team, working as a liaison between our developer teams and our clients. This is a technically challenging role where you will use your SQL and XML skills and work with technologies such as Oracle, BEA Weblogic, Apache Tomcat and other web-based deployment servers.

You will be involved throughout the whole lifecycle of implementing PaceMetrics' solutions: 

  • requirements gathering
  • business analysis
  • system presentation
  • installation
  • implementation 
  • training 

If you have experience in a leading-edge technology company in any of the above functions then we would like to meet with you. 

Consultants must have a good background in Computers, Mathematics or Engineering. Fluent English, good writing skills and a good sense for client contact is required.

The candidate must have a valid EU passport as this job involves extensive travel after three to six months of on-the-job training in Dublin.

Required Qualifications

An Honours B.Sc. in Computer Applications or similar degree such as Mathematics or Electronic Engineering.

Key Requirements

Third Level Certification
More than 2 years testing experience
Experience with test management software e.g. Quality Center, JIRA, Testlink etc...

Advantageous

Experience in working with Agile methodologies
Contributing towards Test Team best practises and procedures
ISEB/ISTQB professional certification 
Automation experience

Senior Software Engineer

Key Tasks

Participate in the requirements gathering, design and development of new features
Implement unit testing, automated tests, test support
Contribute to and maintain functional documentation
Prototype / POC development for next generation of company products
Maintain and support existing product features and installations

Required Skills

Minimum three years relevant commercial development experience
Good object-oriented design and development experience
Experience with Java and web-tier technologies
Experience with complex designs using design patterns, and reusable system architectures 
Awareness of need for standards and quality, used to meeting strict deadlines, whilst producing quality work 

Advantageous

Experience with FE development techniques and frameworks including JSP, jQuery and ExtJS
Experience of working in an agile (Scrum) environment.
Knowledge of build tools such as Maven and Hudson
Experience with JPA/Hibernate, Spring, Apache Camel, Jersey, RESTful API development
